The price increase of pickups is inevitable. Due to the reimposed excise taxes, these vehicles face substantial increases, and we’ll be expecting more of them down the line. While the car companies did their best to hold it off, stocks of pre-excise units are all but gone.
Toyota was the first to announce it, now it’s Ford’s turn to do so. Yes folks, the Ford Ranger has been slapped with the extra duties.

Most Ranger variants are affected by the new tax scheme, and you’ll have to pay an extra P244,000 at the very least. That’s for the entry-level variant of the pickup, the 2.0 Turbo XL 4x4. For the mid-spec 2.0 Turbo Sport 4x2, its prices go up by P301,000. But for the same variant with four-wheel drive, that’s another P325,000 on top of its pre-excise tax.
It’s the 2.0 Bi-Turbo Wildtrak 4x4 that suffers the most here. It sees the biggest price hike at a whopping P390,000. That pushes its suggested retail price well over the P2-M mark and even closer to the Raptor.

- Ranger 2.0 Bi-Turbo Wildtrak 4x4 AT – P2,340,000 (+P390,000)
- Ranger Raptor 2.0 Bi-Turbo 4x4 AT – P2,468,000 (retained, increased prior)
- Ranger Raptor 3.0 Ecoboost Twin-Turbo V6 4x4 AT – P2,799,000 (retained, increased prior)
