Hold up, wasn’t the Ford Ranger Raptor V6 always a part of the local lineup? Well, not really. After its launch during last year’s Philippine International Motor Show, the number coming into the country was limited to just 300 units. After that, the order books would be closed and that was that.
Or so we thought. Well, it’s great news for those who missed out on the near 400hp pickup.

It didn’t take that long for all 300 units to be snapped up, which is why Ford Philippines has decided to make the performance pickup a permanent fixture in its lineup. It’s no longer a limited edition model, and let’s jut say that we’re glad more are coming in.
For those who need more convincing that it’s true, here’s what Ford Philippines managing director, Pedro Simoes, had to say. “Due to the overwhelming demand from our customers, we are excited to announce that the Ranger Raptor 3.0L V6 will now be a permanent addition to our performance vehicle portfolio. The Raptor 3.0L V6 is a personal favorite, and I can’t wait for more customers to experience its exceptional power and unmatched versatility.”

We’ve driven the boosted six-cylinder Ranger Raptor about a year and a half ago. At the time, it had zero chances of ever coming to the Philippines. Thanks to demand to local enthusiasts, it finally made its way to the country. Score one for community for making it happen and props to Ford for listening. And let’s not forget those who bought the first 300 units, showing the company’s management that there is, indeed, a market for hot Rangers.
So, what makes the Ranger Raptor V6 special? Well, that twin-turbo V6 makes 392hp and 583Nm, 198hp and 82Nm more than the diesel models. It also gets special tuning for its Fox suspension and dampers, and comes with three locking differentials; front, center, and rear.
As for pricing, it’s still at P2,739,000, exactly the same as the first 300 that landed here.
