Oof. Porsche rebigulator Gunther Werks has revealed the “final rendition” of its Speedster program, and it’s an industrial defibrillator masquerading as an exceedingly modified 993-generation Porsche 911. Ready thine feeble hearts for ‘Project Endgame.’
And not unlike its Marvel Comics-esque name, Project Endgame gets a heroic amount of power. Unsurprisingly to those of you who’ve read the headline, there’s a colossal 840hp of oomph generated by a modified 4.0-liter air-cooled, twin-turbo flat-six directed solely at the rear wheels.

Sorry, that should read very modified. It’s been built by Rothsport Racing to motorsport spec, boasting 894Nm of torque and a 7,500rpm redline. There’s a flat fan as a hat-tip to Porsche motorsport, said to provide “even cooling” to all six pots. Individual throttle bodies—peak performance stuff, that—are present, as are air-to-water intercoolers plated in 24-karat gold.

That oomph is directed at said wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox with “bespoke ratios that deliver smooth, potent power,” apparently. The entire drivetrain is of course packaged up inside a rebodied 993 clothed in carbon and pinched directly from the Gunther Werks Turbo.

Here, Gunther Werks enthusiasts will spot new rear quarter panels because there’s a fatter engine to deal with, a ‘True Candy’ red paint job, more gold detailing, leather and alcantara trim inside, and the mother of all rear wings. GW claims a curb weight of just 1,179kg. That’s...that’s basically a running shoe.
“At the client’s behest, Endgame will be the only Speedster powered by an air-cooled turbocharged engine, undoubtedly making it our fastest Speedster to date,” said GW boss Peter Nam. Oof.
