Honda’s midsize sedan is officially celebrating its Golden Jubilee. Last week, May 8, 2026, the Honda Accord turned 50 years old. This marks 11 generations and more than 25 million units moved over five decades as a core model in Honda’s lineup.
Reflecting on the history of the Accord, Honda highlights how it was always designed to be a global model. Notably, it was one of the first models Honda exported to the US, and also one of the first models manufactured on American soil when Honda became the first Japanese brand to begin production in the States.
To celebrate, the Honda Collection Hall at Mobility Resort Motegi will have a special 50th Anniversary Special Exhibit to showcase the Accord’s journey. Historic models will be put on display, as well as panels that illustrate its evolution across its many generations.
Of course, no celebration for a historic model can be complete without commemorative merch. Honda will be selling t-shirts, caps, mugs, and more with designs featuring the first-generation Accord and the Accord 50th Anniversary logo. These will be available through Honda’s online store on Amazon, as well as Suzuka Circuit and Mobility Resort Motegi’s online and on-site shops.
Honda will also collaborating with Kyoto-based leather accessory brand COTOCUL for special merchandise. Using recycled leather seat material used on the Accord, leather goods stamped with Honda branding will be sold during the celebration.

Unfortunately, as with all cool autmotive merch, the above commemorative products are limited to shipping in Japan—in other words, Japan-exclusive.
At the end of the month, Honda will cap off the celebrations with a special video and article commemorating the Accord’s history. These will go up on May 26, 2026, on Honda’s official website and YouTube channel.
In the Philippines, we last saw the Accord in Honda dealerships back in 2022 before it was cut from the lineup due to a weak sedan market. Still, Honda Cars Philippines hasn’t fully shut the doors on it just yet. At least, that’s what they said two years ago.
The market has changed a lot since that statement was made in 2024, and sedans of it size—especially electrified ones—haven’t disappeared from dealerships just yet. Could be an opportunity there, if you ask me...
