It’s hard to beat the CR-V when it comes to being an all-rounder. It’s spacious, good on gas, loaded on features, and surprisingly good to drive. But Honda reckons that its popular crossover can also be a great glamping companion.
Meet the Honda CR-V Dream Pod, and it explores the more adventurous side of this model. It’s a concept made by the company’s European arm, and it’s ‘inspired by Japan’s capsule hotels.’

There’ll be a next-gen Miata, and it’ll still be lightweight and come with a manual
Mind you, the CR-V is heaps more spacious than a capsule hotel. There’s actually room for two in there, along with a host of creature comforts. The camper conversion comes courtesy of EGOE, a Czech Republic-based company that specializes in such things. Honda then slid in an EGOE Nestboard 650 in-car camping kit to make it a cozy home away from home.

There’s a bed, of course, but underneath it is a neat little party trick. There’s a slide-out drawer that reveal a cooking stove, a collapsible sink, plus ample storage for utensils, cutlery, and plates. Also added are LED reading lights, pull-out side tables, and additional USB charging ports. Privacy is provided by black-out covers for the rear windows and retractable blinds behind the front seats.
Sadly, it’s a one-off as it was made to celebrate the Honda CR-V’s 30th anniversary. That said, one can make their own CR-V Dream Pod as all the things fitted to this concept are available at EGOE.
