Back in May, we reported that Honda Cars Philippines would be increasing the prices of its offerings come July 1, 2019—that’s today, in case you’re not fond of keeping track of dates. Well, if you check the Japanese car manufacturer’s local website, you’ll see the hike has finally hit, but not all cars are affected.
The refreshed Honda Civic, Civic Type R, new BR-V, HR-V and Accord executive sedan have all been spared from the price hike. We have to point out though that two of the aforementioned models, the new BR-V and Civic, were just recently launched, so put an asterisk on those.
Anyway, the price jumps range from less than P10,000 to P190,000, depending on what nameplate you’re looking at. Those planning to buy a Honda Odyssey will be the most affected bunch, as the plush Japanese MPV’s EX variant has jumped a whopping P150,000 in price.
The increase for more mass market-oriented offerings like the City, Jazz and Brio Amaze are relatively manageable, as none of these models saw a jump of more than P15,000. Honda’s popular crossover, the CR-V, also saw a P13,000 increase at most.
