Mugen wasted no time in getting its hands on the all-new Honda Prelude. That shouldn’t be much of a surprise since it’s the company’s in-house aftermarket division.
With that, Mugen has introduced a kit for the new sports coupe. Not only that, the company has also rolled out accessories and mild performance enhancements to go along with it.

So, where to start? For the exterior, there’s carbon bits that give the Prelude a little bit more visual pop. At the front, there’s a splitter that makes it appear lower to the ground. The same effect is achieved by the side skirts and rear bumper kit. Plus, the trunk spoiler reminds us of the fourth-generation model.

But aside from the carbon parts, Mugen also gave the Prelude a new set of shoes. More specifically, it’s BBS and Mugen that provided new wheels for it. Known as the BBS Mugen FR10, it’s specifically developed for Honda products – even serving as the optional wheel set for the Civic Type R.
For performance enhancements, there are a couple to choose from. For starters, there’s a performance damper that aims to improve stability by damping vehicle body vibrations and eliminating vibrations. There’s also the Mugen brake pads for better fade resistance, and a sports exhaust system.

There are other accessories Mugen has to offer for the Honda Prelude. There’s the carbon mirror caps and carbon badging, along with a choice of two Mugen decals. Special carpets and scuff plates are also available, as well as machine-milled oil filler caps. And for the hardcore collector, there’s even a Mugen foldable container with, er, Mugen decals. Still, an amusing novelty item.
