Hyundai is doing SEMA right. After showing us a teaser of what’s basically a Veloster monster truck, it has revealed this Veloster N Performance, a quirky 3+1-door coupe thingy with a heap of seriously nerdy fast bits attached, turning it into a right tearaway.
At its core is the Veloster N—basically a stateside i30N hot hatch with weirder doors—but a whole shedload of seriousness has been thrown at it. And it’s all stuck.
So, there’s hard-core coilover suspension. Much chassis bracing. Seriously forceful Alcon brakes. Forged OZ wheels. Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. A new cat-back exhaust system. If you thought the current N range was loud and firm, you’ve seen nothing yet.
Betraying the additional boisterousness is a tougher, orange-trimmed bodykit (just look at that wing!), some supreme Sabelt seats (a mixture of carbon and alcantara, the official materials of quick cars), and a new, more tactile gear knob. Think of it as an i30N Project C for our friends in America.
So, this or the monster truck?
