Safe to say that SUV fans, and we know there’s a lot of them out there, are looking forward to the 250 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Lexus GX. After all, we all had to wait over a decade for the all-new model and it’s about time that these long-running models received a full model change.
This being an off-roader, it was only a matter of time before the aftermarket community got their hands on it. JAOS, one of Japan’s leading off-road outfitters did a number on the GX, and the result is the Lexus GX Overtrail by JAOS.

JAOS gave a whole lot of goodies for this SUV. Starting with the exterior, there’s front bumper guard made of ABS plastic to prevent scuffing up the paint. Those protectors also come with LED driving lights for additional visibility on dark trails. For added protection, there’s a skid plate installed under the bumper to prevent damaging the lower block for the engine.
Other upgrades? The GX by JAOS gets fitted with over fenders, side steps, and a thick mudguard. A flat rack has been added for additional luggage options. If you’ve also noticed, this particular GX is higher of the ground. That’s thanks to a BattleZ lift kit with force adjustable dampers and height adjustment. It then wears JAOS Tribe Cross wheels shod in Toyo Open Country all-terrain tires.
There was no mention of any engine upgrades, but Lexus used the GX 550 as a base vehicle. That means it packs a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 under the hood. It’s good for 349hp and 650Nm of torque, more than enough to get it out of trouble. It then shifts with a ten-speed automatic transmission.
