The Mazda 6e has just made another local debut in Southeast Asia with an official release in Singapore. Following launches in Thailand and Indonesia, Singapore becomes the third country in the region to receive the fully electric midsize sedan. What can we expect if the Japanese manufacturer decides to bring it to our shores?
The 6e is Mazda’s only fully electric sedan in the lineup, and its only EV model introduced in Southeast Asia. In the Philippines, the carmaker’s electrified lineup consists of hybrids in the form of the 3, the CX-30, the CX-60, and the CX-90, with the newest addition being the recently launched all-new CX-5 HEV.
Being a fully electric sedan, the 6e would likely compete with the Tesla Model 3 and the BYD Seal if it were launched here; in the premium segment, there’s also the Lexus ES. In Thailand, the 6e starts at THB1,169,000 (P2,211,605), while in Indonesia, the fastback sedan stickers for RP850,000,000 (P2,965,200). In Singapore, the 6e costs SGD229,888 (P11,180,352) inclusive of a Certificate of Entitlement.

Out of the three Southeast Asian markets to receive the 6e, Thailand would still be closest to the Philippines in terms of pricing. So, how much would the sedan cost if it were launched here? We can only guess for now. With the Mazda 3 starting at THB979,000 (P1,850,663) in Thailand versus P1,510,000 in the Philippines, the 6e could potentially hover around the P2.1 million mark. Again, this is just our guess.
As a package, the 6e features a 78kWh battery paired with a single electric motor delivering 255hp and 290Nm of torque to the rear wheels. It supports both AC and DC charging with a maximum charge rate of 194kW. Drive range is listed at 560km (WLTP), which is on par with the standard Tesla Model 3 and slightly less than the BYD Seal EV in our market.
Mazda Philippines has yet to announce the arrival of the 6e on our shores, but with its launch in Singapore and other neighboring countries, we’ve certainly got our fingers crossed. What do you think of the Mazda 6e? Let us know in the comments.
