One can say that the E-Class has one of the longest lineage in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. Tracing its roots, it dates all the way back to 1953 with the W120 models, better known as the ‘Ponton’ Benzes.
Which is why it’s a mystery why Mercedes-Benz Philippines shelved the model a few years ago. In its place was the all-electric EQE as it was the same size, but it’s not exactly a traditional midsize Benz sedan.

But now, it’s back and it makes an electrified comeback. Yes folks, the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class for the Philippines is a hybrid. Finally.

More specifically, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class returns to the country as a plug-in hybrid. What we get is the E350e, and it packs quite the punch. At the same time, it’s the only plug-in hybrid offering among its peers. BMW Philippines better bring in the 530e for some competition.
Also known as the E300e in other markets, the E350e uses a 2.0-liter turbo gas engine mated to a single electric motor and a 19.53kWh battery. Total system output is rated at 204hp and 340Nm with an estimated electric-only range of over 100km. It then shifts with a nine-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels.

The local version dons the Exclusive exterior design package. That means we get the classic three-pointed star on the hood. We say it’s a good call to choose that over the Avantgarde or AMG Line. Interestingly, the 20-inch wheels came straight from the AMG catalog. A mix of elegance and sport, then.
Inside, occupants are greeted by the MBUX Superscreen. That means there are three screens on the dash as standard. The first is the instrument cluster, while the second and third screen are housed in one large glass panel. In essence, it clumps together the main infotainment system and another display for the passenger. Of course, there are acres of soft and rich textures inside.

Ambient lighting is also included, along with sun blinds for the rear occupants. Audiophiles will appreciate the Burmester 4D surround sound system that somehow crams 17 speakers inside. The Philippine-spec E350e also comes with something called the Acoustic Comfort Package. It’s essentially heat and noise isolating glass fitted to all windows.
How much, you ask? The 2025 Mercedes-Benz E350e can be yours for P5,490,000.
