We’ve been talking about the XForce for quite a while now. Since its launch at Gaikindo last year, we’ve all been keeping our eyes peeled for confirmation about its arrival here in our market. Well, we finally have it now.

During a recent gathering with the media, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) made the surprise announcement that it will be launching a series of new models after the all-new Triton. One of which would be the XForce, and MMPC even went so far as confirming that it’ll be arriving in June 2024.

What’s the fuss around here all about, anyway? Simple. The XForce is going to be Mitsubishi’s first subcompact crossover since, well, the ASX. It’ll be the brand’s first offering in an era where the segment’s now one of the most popular among car buyers.

The XForce will also be Mitsubishi’s contender against the likes of the Toyota Raize and Yaris Cross, the Honda HR-V, and the Hyundai Creta, among many others. It’ll also (probably) give Chinese crossovers a run for their money, as MMPC confirmed the XForce will be “affordable” here. Good news.

Apart from that, though, the only details the carmaker confirmed about the XForce is that it’ll have a wet mode—which I’m not yet sure how we’ll make good use of it—and Yamaha speakers. Okay, the latter’s pretty cool.

So, just a few more months, then? It’s shaping up to be quite an exciting year for Mitsubishi. We’re stoked.
