During last year’s Philippine International Motor Show, Nissan Philippines previewed four models we could soon expect in local showrooms. One of them was the Nissan Z Nismo, and they promised that it’ll be officially launched by January 2025.

Well, they made good on that promise. With literally two days to go before the end of the month, the Z Nismo has been formally launched locally.

Nissan Z Nismo

The all-new Nissan Z Nismo isn’t just some kitted-up special. It’s a true high(er) performance version of the already capable and competent Z. Of course, that didn’t stop Nissan from adding unique and functional features on the outside.

The deeper front chin, side skits, and rear apron are actual aero enhancements, while the Rays lightweight wheels lessen unsprung weight. As for the red highlights, we’d like to think it adds 5hp…each.

Changes under the skin aim to make the Z Nismo even sharper to drive. There are stiffer springs and dampers thrown in, along with extra underfloor bracing. Adhesion is care of Dunlop SP Sport Max tires, while Akebono brakes reel in the Z Nismo.

More power is the order of the day as its Nismo-fied 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 punches out 420hp and 521Nm. That’s a 42hp bump over the standard Z, and a significant 46Nm increase in torque. On top of that, the model comes exclusively with something called the Sport+ mode. In essence, it’s the sharpest driving mode available that perks up throttle response, shifting times, and everything else to make it go even faster.
