Peugeot has always been known for making rally-bred cars with a little bit of "zing" built into their daily-driver counterparts. Models like the 208 GTi hot hatch, the 308 wagon, the RCZ coupe and even the 508 midsize sedan have just a bit more sportiness in them.
Apart from its sporty side, the French carmaker is likewise trying to build a reputation for making frugal and high-tech everyday cars, such as the 5008 MPV and the 3008 crossover. But those who really know Peugeot are well aware that it, too, makes cars for the whole family.
In its lineup, it has two vans dubbed leisure activity vehicles: the Expert Tepee, which is being offered in our market, and the more compact Partner Tepee. The latter, in particular, is the recipient of a few updates to freshen up its look.
The new look includes a new front end, incorporating the signature Peugeot look. Other changes include two new colors: Moka Gray and Artense Gray. Rounding out the changes to the leisure activity vehicle is a set of Managua eight-spoke, 16-inch alloy wheels that give the van a more dynamic character.
Inside, the van offers new seat trims, such as Cadaska Roux or NeoSpa, depending on the variant selected. The cabin also sees the addition of a new seven-inch color touchscreen with telematics function. Placed right in the middle of the ergonomic dashboard, this new device displays all the pertinent information, such as infotainment settings, climate control, driving and vehicle information, and navigation system, among others.
Available in either five- or seven-seater options, the Partner Tepee has a fully configurable cabin. It allows for a wide range of people- and cargo-carrying capabilities. Buyers can choose from a range of two gasoline and five "Blue HDI" diesel engines, mated to either manual or automatic transmission.
This French vehicle comes loaded with a slew of safety features such as Grip Control, a built-in reverse camera, and the Active City Brake technology that uses Light Detection and Ranging technology.
The question is: Will the Peugeot Partner Tepee make it to Philippine showrooms any time soon?
