The Porsche 911 Dakar is destined to be a collector’s item. With just 2,500 marked for production, chances of seeing one in the wild will be rare. Despite that, PGA Cars, the official distributor of Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and of course, Porsche, have managed to bag allocations for this unicorn.

Launched last May 5, 2024, the premiere of the 911 Dakar comes hot on the heels of yet another high-riding supercar, the Lamborghini Huracan Serrato. With that, PGA Cars has a pair of supercars that are ideal for our, um, less than stellar roads.

The 911 Dakar is more than just a regular Carrera with a lift kit. For starters, it’s based on the punchier Carrera 4 GTS. It then gets a unique suspension arrangement that can be adjustable on the fly. With a flick of a switch, the car can be raised to give an extra 80mm of clearance. Its fenders have also been widened, along with additional protection under the body and the side air intakes.

Not only that, the suspension is specifically tuned to take on high-speed off-road driving. We’d love to see local billionaires play with it on the sand dunes. All-terrain Pirelli tires are standard fit and developed especially for the Dakar. Meanwhile, its 3.0-liter turbocharged flat-six engine can propel this 911 to 100kph in just 3.4 seconds…on said all-terrain tires.

Other noteworthy features? Aside from the unique suspension arrangement, it also comes with rear-axle steering, engine mounts from the 911 GT3, and PDCC anti-roll stabilization. Also added to the Dakar are two driving modes, namely Rallye and off-road settings. Both these modes also come with Rallye Launch Control for those quick starts on loose surfaces.

For those who want to personalize the already exclusive sports car, there are a couple of options available. There’s the fixed rear spoiler and front luggage compartment, both made from carbon fiber. It can also be fitted with a roll cage, six-point harnesses, and even a fire extinguisher.

Of course, the Rallye Design Package is available for the local-spec Dakar. The look is a tribute to the original Porsche 911 that competed in the 1984 Paris-Dakar rally…and won the race outright. For those who want something a little more subtle, it’s also available sans the livery in Shade Green

So, how much is the Porsche 911 Dakar? It’s estimated to cost over P30,000,000 and offered in extremely limited quantities.
