Remember the Subaru XV GT Edition? It was unveiled at the 2019 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), boasting extra tech features and a slightly sportier appearance. The vehicle was also a collaboration with Masahiko ‘Jack’ Kobayashi, the carmaker’s former design chief and the man responsible for the WRX STI.

Well, Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP), the Japanese manufacturer’s official Philippine distributor, has officially added the XV GT Edition to its local lineup.

Added aesthetic bits include extended front and rear bumper lips, side skirts, a roof spoiler, and new 18-inch alloy wheels. The GT Edition also comes with special leather upholstery exclusive to the variant.

As with the unit shown at MIAS, there’s more convenience, too. The vehicle is equipped with steering-responsive headlights for better visibility at night, X-Mode for easier driving off-road, and dual side-view cameras for an easier parking experience. Don’t want to mess up those new wheels because of a pesky blind spot, do you?

No changes have been made to what’s under the hood. The special edition XV still comes powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline engine capable of 154hp and 196Nm of torque, mated to a CVT.

The Subaru XV GT Edition comes with a P1,768,000 price tag. If you nab one of the first batch of units, MIP is offering a special P50,000 discount bringing the initial cost down to P1,718,000. Interested?
