In October last year, Toyota unveiled the all-new Land Cruiser FJ—fondly known as the ‘baby Land Cruiser.’ It made its appearance at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 and immediately turned heads with its cute, retro looks.
There’s good news: it won’t be long before the Land Cruiser FJ arrives in the Philippines. According to a report by AutoLife Thailand, later picked up by PaulTan.org, the compact SUV is set to launch in Thailand at the end of March 2026. This suggests it could also arrive on our shores very soon.
The Land Cruiser FJ shares styling cues with the Land Cruiser Prado and the Tamaraw. It has a classic, rugged look, but in a smaller package.

It’s powered by a 2TR-FE 2.7-liter gasoline engine that puts out 161hp and 246Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed Super ECT automatic transmission. As of now, there’s no diesel variant of this compact SUV.
It measures 4,575mm long, 1,855mm wide, and 1,960mm tall. Despite its urban-friendly proportions, however, the aggressive wheel arch overfenders tell a different story. Like a true adventurer, the Land Cruiser FJ features part-time four-wheel-drive, selectable through a knob on the center console.
At first glance, the interior looks akin to the Land Cruiser Prado. It has a mix of black leather and plastics but leans more toward the utilitarian side (as shown by the manual handbrake). It’s simple, but far from bare. The infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay, and the steering wheel has various controls on the left and right spokes. It also has Toyota Safety Sense available.
How much will it cost, you ask? That hasn’t been announced yet. But with March 2026 just around the corner, we should be able to update you very soon.
