The Toyota Raize has received a new GR Sport variant in Indonesia, which includes the typical Gazoo Racing-themed accessories and a more premium interior. However, the Japanese carmaker also upgraded the driving-assistance features on the Raize to a more comprehensive version of Toyota Safety Sense.
This means that adaptive cruise control, lane-departure assists, and pre-collision warning are now on the subcompact crossover. There does not seem to be a panoramic view monitor, but Toyota also added a blind-spot monitoring system.

As with other GR Sport models, the engine remains as is. Under the hood is a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder mill that makes 97hp and 140Nm of torque. Mated to a CVT, this powertrain is currently utilized in the locally available top-spec Raize.

But what isn’t offered in the Philippines (at least for now) is the GR Sport aerokit here. New front and rear bumper spoilers give the Raize a more aggressive stance, along with additional side skirts and GR-branded scuff plates. The door handles and sideview mirrors get faux carbon-fiber covers, while the windows get blacked-out visors.

Inside, the cabin is dressed in similar black upholstery and leather. The digital instrument cluster and main display have increased in size to seven and nine inches, respectively. It’s all tied together by the new GR-branded steering wheel, affixed with paddle shifters and a curious ‘PWR’ mode button, which, according to Toyota, should make accelerating more lively. Finally, the gearshift also gets a GR makeover with a new leather finish.
