This is it. Or at least we think.
Just a couple of weeks after its global reveal, it looks like Toyota Motor Philippines is already launching the new hybrid Vios in our market. We know a lot of you have been waiting for the all-new model to finally arrive here, and we can all agree that this is better than what we’ve been asking for.
Toyota just posted an image of a headlight that resembles that of the all-new Vios. It’s also no coincidence that the image had the words ‘Achieve The Electrified Vision’ with the letters A, T, I, and V highlighted in blue. That color marks Toyota’s hybrid models, and ‘Ativ’ is what the Vios is called in its home market of Thailand.

Could the Philippines be getting the Suzuki e-Vitara?

Of course, no details have been released just yet. No dates, no specs—nothing. However, we do know from the global reveal that this subcompact sedan will be powered by a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine with a lithium-ion battery powering a compact single electric motor. The system puts out a total of 109hp and the electric motor churns out 141Nm. This is the same setup found in the Yaris Cross HEV.
We’ve also gotten word from a source that it could very well be in October. That’s about a month from today, so that’s something to watch out for. Until then, keep your eyes peeled. Rest assured, we’ll bring you more as we have it. You can check out the teaser below.
