Under the metal, this EV is actually built on top of the Minio Green platform. As with other Green-series models like the Limo Green and the Herio Green, the Minio Green was designed for taxi-fleet service; VinFast claims it has refined and optimized the platform to create the EV2.

The single electric motor drives the rear wheels with 40hp and 65Nm of torque. With the 18.3kWh battery, the declared NEDC range is 210km. It also supports up to 24kW DC fast charging, which can take the battery from 10% to 70% in 34 minutes.

Like most small EVs, the VF2 sticks with a safe, inoffensive design. VinFast is opening preorders for the VF2 in Vietnam soon, and it’s priced at VND188 million—around P440,000 as of writing. Marketing for the car clearly targets younger buyers shopping for their first vehicle. The brand also specifies that the sticker price includes the battery. In other words, a battery subscription could drive the price even lower. Do you think VinFast Philippines should introduce the VF2 to its lineup? Let us know in the comments.
