The Geneva International Motor Show is turning out be a very important event for Porsche as the German carmaker has revealed the 918 Spyder hybrid concept.
The Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid concept is a mid-engined sports car with a V8 powerplant that delivers more than 500hp. While it runs like a super-sports car, its carbon dioxide emission is just 70g per kilometer--much like that of a small compact car--as it consumes only three liters of fuel for every 100 kilometers with its plug-in hybrid feature. The 918 Spyder is equipped with three electric motors that can put out a total of 160kW or 215hp.
The 918 Spyder's look combines both classic styling elements of Porsche with design solutions for the future as it evokes both the 917 Le Mans-winning race car and the currently-available RS Spyder.
Other Porsche vehicles which are stealing the show in Geneva include the 911 Turbo S and the next-generation Cayenne, which also has a hybrid variant.
