ACMobility has just set up its first Super- and Ultra-fast EV chargers at the Corinthian Carpark in Makati City. The ACMobility EV charging station there now features nine DC CCS2 charging points, with four of them being what ACMobility calls ‘SuperFast’ 240kW chargers. There is also one ‘UltraFast’ 480kW DC charger.

While DC fast charging is not new to the Philippine EV charging network, ACMobility’s chargers previously maxed out at 142kW. These new super and ultra-fast chargers should be able to cut down the average EV’s charging time to just around 10min.

ACMobility is keeping the same DC charging rate for its faster chargers at P35/kWh. Lower-powered AC charging rates are still fixed at P28.5/kWh, but ACMobility does have membership plans with monthly rates that aim to make charging prices more manageable.

Previously, ACMobility committed to swiftly expanding Makati’s EV charging network. Ayala’s mobility arm currently has 70 EV chargers within 16 stations across the city, with 30 more chargers and six new stations on the way. Key among those are more super- and ultra-fast chargers that are set to be installed at the Leviste Carpark in Salcedo, Makati, in the near future.

However, many owners may still flock towards the Corinthian Carpark as it has been retrofitted to accommodate electric minibuses and other larger EVs. Interestingly, all the power that comes through the car park’s chargers comes from completely renewable energy sources.

So far, it looks like the only other supercharger in the country is the Tesla V4 Supercharger station at the SM Mall of Asia complex. There, Tesla owners can charge their cars with up to 250kW of power. That supercharger is open 24/7, and owners pay just P19/kWh to juice up their Teslas.
