With the COVID-19 pandemic still in full swing, the automotive industry is adjusting its products and services to better reach its customers. SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation, the country’s official BMW distributor, has just announced some big changes to its offerings.

First, starting from June 1, 2020, all brand-new BMW vehicles will be offered with a five-year, 200,000km warranty. This covers “all mechanical and electrical
components, but does not cover preventive maintenance or wear and tear items.” In case the vehicle is sold within the five-year period, this warranty is transferrable.

Next, the German carmaker is reintroducing the BMW Service Inclusive, which allows customers the option of purchasing packages to cover their preventive maintenance for a period of five years or 60,000km. Lastly, prospective buyers who wish to do their car shopping from the comfort of their own home can log on to the BMW Digital Showroom. Aside from being able to browse the lineup, customers can arrange for a private viewing at their nearest dealership or arrange a home test drive through this service.
