The Honda Civic e:HEV continues to win the hearts of many, recently adding the 2025 North American Car of the Year to its list of accolades. The title was bestowed at the North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) Awards earlier this month.
This marks the fourth win of the Honda Civic at the NACTOY Awards, with its latest Car of the Year title awarded back in 2022. And this year, the hybrid Civic beat out the Kia K4 and the Toyota Camry to take the North American crown.

The Civic e:HEV has definitely won the hearts at the Top Gear Philippines office as well. Back in Novemeber 2024, we took a hybrid Civic up to Baguio for a First Drive, and we were more than pleased with the journey. The car provided a punchy but buttery-smooth driving experience with a seamless switch between gas, and electric power.
‘Seamless’ was a word thrown around a lot during our drive. The car’s manuevering, handling, powertain, and, heck, even its infotainment system—all seamless.
In a local market dominated by crossovers, and MPVs, the Civic e:HEV rightfully demands motorists to give sedans another look. Driving this Civic was a playfully dynamic experience, boosted by a powerful hybrid system. And behind all that power was impressive fuel economy that shocked us all the way to Baguio—an average of about 18km/L.
