One can say that the country is slowly but surely embracing electrification. Perhaps it’s the incentives, but one can also say that hybrids and electric vehicles are more accessible than ever.

At Honda Cars Philippines, the sales figures for 2024 indicate that more of its customers are willing to go for hybrid vehicles. That’s evidenced by the number of CR-V RS e:HEV units the company shifted last year.

In 2024, around 1,800 customers brought home a brand-new Honda CR-V. Out of all those units, 1,200 of these were the RS e:HEV variant, also known as the hybrid version. If you do the math, that’s a whopping two-thirds of all sales of the crossover. Among Honda customers at least, it seems that the electrification shift is coming into play.

On top of that, the Honda CR-V was the biggest gainer among all its stablemates. 2024 say a 51 percent year-on-year sales improvement, no doubt helped by the fact that it’s a totally redesigned model.

As for other sales highlights, the BR-V remains the top-selling Honda model in the country with over 5,000 sold. It’s then followed by the City sedan with approximately 3,000 units finding new homes. The HR-V gained 18 percent more sales, while City Hatchback purchases grew by 25 percent.

In 2025, Honda marches forward with its electrification movement. Following the launch and release of the new Civic e:HEV, the company kicks off the year with the preview of the new HR-V, that will soon be available as a hybrid. With that, there are now three models in the local Honda lineup equipped with e:HEV technology. At the rate Honda is going, we might see the entire lineup be electrified before the end of the decade.
