Honda Cars Greenhills has just become the first Honda dealership in the country to have a dedicated corner for Mugen and Modulo accessories. Called the "Honda Accessory Corner," the showroom store is being piloted first at Honda Cars Greenhills and Honda Cars San Pablo.

Both Mugen and Modulo are aftermarket brands for Honda. In March last year, TopGear.com.ph reported that Honda was in talks with Mugen about the possibility of selling the latter's products in the Philippines.

Mugen was established in 1973 by Hirotoshi Honda, son of Honda Motor Company founder Soichiro Honda. Mugen and Honda have been collaborating for more than four decades in motorsports-related activities and projects. The brand is popular for its aftermarket performance and cosmetic parts for Honda.

Modulo, meanwhile, is the main brand of the Honda Access Sales Company, which was formed in 1996. It is acknowledged as the maker of standard Honda accessories.

In a nutshell, the main differences between Mugen and Modulo are these: First, Mugen is significantly more expensive than Modulo, and second, Mugen is made in Japan while Modulo is sourced from Thailand.

"With the goal of providing enhanced driving enjoyment and ownership experience to our valued customers, we reinforce selling a wide array of genuine Honda accessories under the brands of Modulo and Mugen through the Honda Accessory Corner," Honda Cars Philippines said in a press statement.

While all authorized Honda dealers will eventually be able to sell the accessories, "those with the official Honda Accessory Corner will showcase and sell the latest Modulo and Mugen accessories as well as premium lifestyle merchandise from the Asimo, Honda, Mugen and Modulo collections."

According to Honda Cars Greenhills branch manager Tina Marcelino, only Mugen's and Modulo's cosmetic accessories (including bodykits and wheels) will be sold for now. There is no word yet on when--or if--the performance parts will be made available.
