Miata fans in the Philippines—especially those in the market for a brand-new roadster—have a lot to cheer about this year. Not only has Mazda Philippines brought in units of the MX-5 100th Anniversary Special Edition model, but it has now also launched its new ‘Build Your Personal MX-5 Program.’

The name of the program pretty much speaks for itself. Buyers of brand-new MX-5s will now be able to personalize their vehicles to their liking, letting them choose among different exterior colors, interior trim, and even transmissions.

Red Nappa or premium black leather seats, a new Deep Crystal Blue Mica exterior finish, and other added niceties such as a nine-speaker Bose sound system will also be available. The new premium-spec MT soft-top variant will also have Bilstein dampers and front strut bars, which we think is a very enticing feature.

The vehicle can be specced with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox as well. The lone engine option remains, however—that’s the 181hp, 205Nm 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine. In total, Mazda says there are 78 combinations available.

In addition to all these, any new MX-5 purchased will be automatically enrolled in the new 5-Year Free Service Plan that Mazda Philippines rolled out earlier this year. This entails free periodic maintenance services at either six-month or 10,000km intervals for up to five years or 100,000km, whichever comes first.

If you wish to customize your brand-new MX-5 this way, though, then take note: Mazda Philippines also says that lead time for each order will fall between four to six months from order to delivery. Dealers will also require a six-figure deposit because of the logistics required in building a bespoke MX-5.
