Subaru PH names its Palm Challenge Cebu leg winner

Motor Image Pilipinas, the official distributor of Subaru vehicles in the country, has found its second representative for the MediaCorp Subaru Challenge in Singapore. Call-center agent Donn Michael Yap was declared the winner of the Subaru Palm Challenge Cebu leg after holding onto a Subaru vehicle for 12 hours, 51 minutes and 10 seconds, beating last year's Cebu leg record. Just recently, Motor Image concluded the Davao leg of the competition, declaring Roque Moncada as the winner and first of the 10 representatives.

A 24-year-old call center agent, Yap bested 119 other participants in the second leg, which took place in Ayala Center Cebu on September 13. Among the contenders was Joberth Estrera, last year's Cebu leg victor who posted a time of 10 hours, 40 minutes and 19 seconds.

The top nine challengers who lost to Yap each received exclusive Subaru merchandise and P5,000 cash. Yap, meanwhile, received a P15,000 cash prize and an all-expense paid trip to Singapore in November for the regional finals. He will join Davao leg winner Moncada and eight contenders from the Manila leg, which will happen on September 27 in Bonifacio Global City. Together, they will form the Philippine contingent and will try to beat other hopefuls from Singapore, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Every single winner in the history of the Subaru Challenge has been a Singaporean. If a Filipino finally wins the grand prize this year, he or she will be given the keys to a brand-new Subaru XV 2.0i.

So, are you joining the Manila leg?
