Toyota is once again the top carmaker in a brand-valuation company\'s list of best global brands for 2013.
According to Interbrand, the design of today\'s Toyota models has significantly contributed to the Japanese carmaker\'s continued resurgence globally. Together with its new \"Let\'s Go Places\" marketing tagline, this supposedly ties together \"the joy and adventure of physically going somewhere while infusing innovation with an optimistic outlook, crystallizing the brand\'s direction.\"
Interbrand also credits Toyota\'s engagement with its customers as the brand not only scored well among them, but also led the entire automotive industry in this department nearly every time.
Adding to Toyota\'s list of achievements is the Prius as its sales have now passed the three-million mark. In addition, Toyota\'s popular hybrid model also continues to create a powerful halo effect for the brand.
Citing the recall scare Toyota went through in 2010, Interbrand claims that while the challenges the carmaker experienced could have been catastrophic, the brand\'s speedy recovery \"is a testament to its resilience, leadership position, and enduring appeal.\"
Trailing Toyota, which placed 10th on Interbrand\'s list, are Mercedes-Benz in 11th and BMW in 12th.
The other automotive brands that were ranked in the top 100 are Honda (20), Volkswagen (34), Ford (42), Hyundai (43), Audi (51), Porsche (64), Nissan (65), Kia (83), Chevrolet (89) and Ferrari (98).
