With the enhanced community quarantine causing the temporary shutdown of car dealerships and local repair shops, now is arguably the worst time to have any kind of mishap with your car in the middle of the road.
Luckily for Volkswagen owners, you are entitled to Volkswagen Philippines’s 24/7 emergency roadside assistance (ERA)—provided that your car was purchased not earlier than December 1, 2015. All eligible vehicles are automatically enrolled in the ERA program during the entire period of the Luzon-wide quarantine, as well as an extra 30 days after the government finally lifts the said quarantine.
The services included here are towing, vehicle removal or recovery in the event of an accident, fuel delivery in case your car runs out of juice, battery jump-start assist if your car battery suddenly gets discharged, lock-out service if you accidentally lock yourself out of your car, and flat tire service. Volkswagen has clarified, however, that its teams’ service and response times may vary depending on the specific location wherein the VW owner requires assistance.
In addition to these, this ERA also offers other crucial services in case of an emergency, such as relaying of urgent messages, accident coordination with the necessary agencies, ambulance coordination, and arrangement for hospital admissions.
If you want to learn more, you can inquire via the ERA hotline or check out the Volkswagen Philippines website. While you’re at it, you might also want to check out our tips on long-term car storage and battery maintenance which can be useful in this time of quarantine. Drive safe, guys.
