The next-generation Kia Sportage is coming to the Philippines "very, very soon," a well-placed source from distributor Columbian Autocar Corp. told TopGear.com.ph.
The new Kia Sportage looks like a scaled-down version of the latest Kia Sorento with the tiger-nose grille found in the sport-utility vehicle, as well as in the Soul, Forte Koup and Forte sedan.
The next-generation Sportage is also longer, lower and wider, and its wheelbase has been lengthened.
Powerplants expected to run the next-generation Kia Sportage range from 1.6-liter to 2.4-liter variants. Columbian Autocar has yet to reveal which variant will be sold in the Philippines but the current Kia Sportage lineup in the local market are both equipped with 2.0-liter engines.
The new Kia Sportage will have its international debut at the Geneva International Motor Show this week.
