The Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup is officially returning to the track on July 9 to 11, at the Clark International Speedway in Angeles, Pampanga. This time, the race weekend will also act as a ‘rolling laboratory’ to test out alternative fuels.
The succeeding stages of the motorsport series were initially canceled in March shortly after a successful first leg at Riverpark in General Trias, Cavite. The cancellation was done in cooperation with the Automobile Association of the Philippines’ (AAP) initiative to suspend all sanctioned motorsport events amidst the fuel crisis.

As the second leg finally resumes, the TGR Philippine Cup will be using biofuel for the races, including the Tamaraw One-Make Race (OMR), as it continues to navigate the National Emergency Crisis. Toyota Motor Philippines says that it has always served as a trial ground to build ever-better cars. Testing biofuel in real racing conditions should help advance innovation and move towards more sustainable racing.
