Way back in June 2022, Apple announced at its Worldwide Developers Conference that it had significant updates on the way for Apple CarPlay. Now, it appears we finally get to have our first look at this next generation of CarPlay.
According to a report by Car and Driver, the new system will be launched in 2024. The publication also shared Apple’s supposed preview of the technology in Aston Martin and Porsche vehicles.

By the looks of it, Apple will continue on its promise and have CarPlay take control of other in-vehicle functions. The image of the Porsche cockpit shows that on the same screen where the phone is mirrored, there are also controls for seat ventilation. The instrument clusters there and in this Aston Martin cabin (pictured above) also appear to display the Apple CarPlay interface.
Car and Driver said that Aston Martin plans to launch this tech next year in some vehicles, while Porsche has reportedly kept mum on its rollout. That being said, the website also pointed out that the two brands’ relation to other manufacturers could also mean that the tech could become available in more cars in the future. We hope that happens sooner rather than later, because the new CarPlay does look pretty cool. What do you guys think?
