A closer look at the gorgeous Ferrari Roma

It’s pretty powerful, too, with 611 horses under its hood

Ferrari has been on quite a roll lately. As we near the end of 2019, the Italian carmaker has now unveiled yet another new vehicle—its fifth one this year—in the all-new Ferrari Roma.

This new Maranello masterpiece packs a familiar 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 under its hood—yes, this is a front-engined Ferrari. That powertrain’s the same as the Portofino’s, only slightly more powerful with a maximum output of 611hp at 7,500rpm, and capable of doing 0-100kph just at tad bit faster at 3.4 seconds. Mated to this engine is the new eight-speed DCT gearbox equipped in the SF90 Stradale.

It undoubtedly looks the part of an Italian supercar as well, with beautiful styling both inside and out. Outside it has a simple yet elegant design, while the interior is as plush as a Ferrari can get. Separating the two front seats is a large panel flanking the massive touchscreen display. Touchpads take the place of solid buttons on the steering wheel, the engine start/stop button included. Look past the tiller and you’ll see the huge digital instrument cluster that also shows the navigation system apart from the traditional gauges. The passenger side gets its own display as well, with a thin screen fitted right at the bottom of the dash.

As for the other details, we’ll just leave you to it to take a look—or at least have Top Gear deputy editor Jack Rix take you through it. Click play on the embedded video above, and enjoy a tour of the all-new Ferrari Roma.
