Question: What do the Toyota Innova and the A80 Supra have in common? The badge is one, and you’d be forgiven for thinking it stops there. Apparently, though, both are capable of running on a 2JZ-GTE engine.
Someone went ahead and did exactly this, and proceeded to show off his MPV’s newfound power on a dyno. The results? It’s probably safe to say that it’s very unlikely his kids will ever be late for school again. Let’s just hope everyone is strapped in when they drive out in this beast. And that it’s been fitted with a roll cage. Watch:
The Innova hit 465hp. For comparison, the regular current-gen version of the MPV packing a 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV turbodiesel has a max output of 171hp and 360Nm. What’s funny is that barely any changes have been made to the exterior of this vehicle, too, other than a slightly lower front end and some nice-looking TE37s.
This is the very definition of a sleeper. Actually, scratch that. It’s wearing an eye mask and is tucked snuggly underneath a weighted blanket, too.
We can only imagine what it must feel like riding this thing with the driver gunning it. Would you ever consider taking something like this out on a daily basis?
