Samantha and John love Porsche probably as much as they love each other. Thus, the two Porsche Club of America members decided to get married at the Porsche Experience Center (PEC) in Atlanta—and in the back of a speeding Cayenne afterwards.
The slower-paced half of the nuptials was held inside the PEC’s atrium, with the pair surrounded by classis Porsches as well as friends and family—no word on whether they considered the old cars as part of the latter. The fast half took place inside a Porsche Cayenne traveling 110kph around the PEC’s 2.5km driver development circuit. Guests were able to enjoy ride-alongs as passengers afterwards.
“The entire day exceeded anything that I could have dreamed of,” Samantha said after the ceremony. “It was perfect for us. It fit us and who we are and how much we love Porsche.”
Her husband, John, shared the same sentiment: “Everybody had a blast. They were just blown away. I’ve been to dozens of weddings and they’re all pretty much the same. With this one, it was definitely different from the norm in a great way. If you’re a car enthusiast, you’re going to love it. Even if you weren’t a car enthusiast, how could you not love this?”
Porsche Cars North America CEO Klaus Zellmer says this wedding will pave the way for other special events in the future. “Beyond offering thrilling driving experiences for the public, our unique facilities have established themselves as highly sought-after venues for corporate events, galas, fundraisers, and numerous other special occasions,” Zellmer said. “Samantha and John’s wedding is the first but hopefully won’t be the last.”
