Over the past few months, e-bikes, e-trikes, and e-quads have been getting a lot of flak from the public. This led to the government implementing stricter guidelines to regulate the use of these e-vehicles.
Excluded from that crackdown, however, are pedal-assisted bicycles, which is why it’s no surprise that the active transport users have continued to use these two-wheelers. Proof of that is local e-bike retailer Popcycle’s success with folding electric bicycle brand Fiido.
Fiido bicycles, specifically the L3 long-range model, have continued to sell well for Popcycle, so much so that the former has collaborated directly with the latter to create an updated version of the model fit specifically for our market. If anything, this collab further emphasizes that there’s still a dire need for alternative transport solutions in Metro Manila.

The new Fiido L3+ not only features Popcycle branding on the frame, but it also gets new smartphone connectivity via the Fiido app. The dedicated application allows users to control the folding e-bike using their phones. The L3+ also boasts a maximum range of 200km.
“Fiido has had some models that were a great fit for Filipinos but were not so much of a great fit for other countries, specifically Europe and the United States. Popcycle recognized this and made an agreement with Fiido to continue the Fiido L3 model with Popcycle’s support for production and distribution,” said Popcycle co-founder Angelo Lacson. “Popcycle aims to spread this e-bike among different e-bike stores, bike stores, etc. to continue to provide a reliable and efficient long-range electric bicycle for our commuters.”
Prices for the Popcycle x Fiido L3+ aren’t available yet as of this writing, but we’ll keep you posted.
