The Suzuki Jimny has come a long way from its humble beginnings. What once was simply the little off-roader that could now has a five-door version. Now, the current-generation Jimny is also being offered as a pickup truck.
There’s a catch, though: It’s only being sold in Australia as a dealership special.
Naturally, the Suzuki Jimny ute ditches part of its roof and body for a bed at the back. It retains its compact dimensions, however, and remains one of the quirkiest-looking and most capable vehicles around.

Under this thing’s hood is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine capable of around 101hp paired with a five-speed manual transmission. So, while the added utility of the bed is a plus, we wouldn’t load the vehicle with anything a regular Suzuki Jimny couldn’t handle.
The rest of the package is as you’d expect for a Jimny: hill hold and hill descent control, 15-inch steel wheels in black, electric windows, a manual A/C system, cruise control, and even a lane departure warning system and speed limiter.

Frankly, we think the pickup look suits the Jimny just fine. Now, if only Suzuki would make an official version. That would be something, wouldn’t it?
So, a pickup bed or the five-door with extra passenger capacity? Which would you choose?
