The latest member of the Raptor family is something none of us saw coming: This is the P-Raptor dog wheelchair, and this special contraption is every bit as advanced and off-road-capable as its four-wheeled counterparts designed to be driven by hoomans.

The P-Raptor the work of Ford of Mexico and will be produced using 3D printing technology. Best of all, the design file will be completely free to use anywhere in the world—upon entering your dog’s measurements, you can download the custom design file for 3D printing.

Let’s talk specs, shall we? The American carmakre’s corporate design cues are on full display here, via the Ford lettering across the grille (yes, there’s a front grille) and the Raptor badging on the wheels. There are lights up front “so dogs can continue to dominate any terrain even at night,” according to the Google-translated official press release. The center of each wheel can also be fitted with an optional electric motor to provide additional propulsion and traction as needed.

The rear suspension is angled so the wheels don’t come in contact with the dog’s legs. The support structures adjust to the wearer’s posture, and will also allow the dog to sit.

The P-Raptor has a completely modular design, so it can be scaled up or down based on the user’s size. The wheels may be attached either to the front or rear axle depending on the pet’s mobility requirements, and whether the dog is missing a limb or still has four legs but with limited mobility.

Pawsome initiative, isn’t it? We’re looking forward to see some furry friends take this out for a spin.
