Gamers and car fans alike have a reason to rejoice as Microsoft is set to unveil one of the most exciting racing games not called Gran Turismo--the much-awaited Forza Motorsport 6. Developed for the Xbox One, the newest installment of the popular game series promises more driving fun and, of course, hotter cars. In fact, you know that the game is special when organizers have lined up events even before the launch itself.
For one thing, Forza Motorsport 6 is set to feature the hot new Focus RS in its lineup of kick-ass rides. And this isn’t just any Focus RS. It may have the same 345hp, 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine with all-wheel drive, drift mode and launch control, but this one is clad in a special livery designed by the Forza gaming community. The winning entry came from the players of the Forza Horizon 2 gaming competition.
The heat will be turned up a notch when you find out that Ford has also thrown in the all-new GT supercar into the gaming mix. The limited-production model features a carbon-fiber body, a twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost motor, racing-style torsion bar and pushrod suspension, and carbon-ceramic brakes. All these combine for one truly light, powerful and agile driving machine.
"In Forza Motorsport 6, racing and gaming enthusiasts all over the world will be the first to experience Ford’s new ultra-high-performance supercar, the GT," said Dan Greenawalt, creative director at Turn 10 Studios in Redmond, Washington. "In Cologne, we’re excited to showcase the real all-new Focus RS clad in a special paint scheme created by the Forza community."
But before gamers experience "driving" the two Fords, they will first have a chance to see them at the 2015 Gamescom event this weekend in Cologne, Germany. The cars won’t just be sitting there, by the way. The Focus RS will be driven at the event by no less than our Stig. In fact, Stiggy will likewise be part of the latest Forza installment. Needless to say, you can try your best to beat The Stig in your very own video game.
