Unbeknownst to perhaps a lot of people on this side of the globe, Swedish company Husqvarna doesn’t just produce motorcycles. The brand actually has other products in its lineup, including power tools and heavy machinery—a bit far from the Svarts and Vits we see on our roads.

In recent years, the motorcycle manufacturer has also started dipping its toes in the alternative mobility field, and its latest creation has just been unveiled: the new Skutta. If it sounds like ‘scooter’ when you read it, well, that’s somewhat correct.

The Skutta is Husqvarna’s new foldable electric kick scooter, and it looks rather unique. It has these twin forks up front instead of the usual single pole, and it enables the patented fold-flat feature of the scooter. The Skutta in its folded form is very easy to carry or drag around.

Husqvarna also says the Skutta promises impressive handling, with an eight-inch rear wheel and a larger 10-inch front wheel. The former gets a puncture-free foam core—a pneumatic tire, if you would—while the former gets a standard air-inflated tire.

Actual range wasn’t divulged yet, but charging time from zero to 100% will take nearly four and a half hours when charging at home. Fast-charging is also available. To charge the battery, you simply need to take it out of the Skutta and plug it in. The batteries, by the way, can be swapped with any other Husqvarna AB product.

This Husky EKS costs €1,549, or roughly P95,000, and that’s still without taxes. Sales will start in December 2023. If this were available in the Philippines, would you use something like this to get around Metro Manila?
