The year 2023 was a big one for the Philippine sim-racing scene. At the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup Asia finals, our very own Luis Moreno earned a spot to compete at the global finals.
While things unfortunately didn’t go as planned last year, there’s still a lot more to look forward to with regards to sim-racing in 2024, as Moreno has been announced as one of the representatives of the Legion of Racers (LOR) for the upcoming season.

LOR is a Singapore-based esports and lifestyle brand, and it has enlisted 10 drivers for the 2024 season for its multiple sim-racing programs. Moreno will be one of four reps as part of the Elite Team, competing in major tournaments across the region throughout the year.
“2023 was a phenomenal year for LOR, with members of the team performing in events such as the Toyota GT Gazoo Cup 2023 and the Asia Pacific GT E-Motorsports Championships. Dillan Tan alone captured seven titles over the course of the year,” said LOR co-founder Melvin Moh. “We are aiming to continue the momentum from 2023 into 2024 as the team pushes themselves to greater heights across the region.”
The six new drivers will be part of the Ascent team, and the lineup includes 15-year-old Enzo Ison and 31-year-old Francis Angelo Gonzales, two more kababayans under LOR’s roster. The Ascent program focuses on scouting up-and-coming sim-racing talent who can be trained and developed further and eventually compete in major competitions for LOR. For 2024, the Ascent drivers will join smaller races in the region.
“Apart from sim racing skills, members of the LOR Ascent program will also undergo specialized training in areas such as media handling and personal social media management,” Moh added.
