Yes, we know, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is available locally and has been for a long time. The nicer bit is, the mighty Mercedes-AMG G63 can be purchased at your nearest Benz dealership, too. That said, it’s not very often we see the G sitting on the showroom.

So when we saw the mighty G63 proudly displayed at Mercedes-Benz BGC, we took the chance to take a long look at it. Better yet, its doors were unlocked, giving us a glimpse of what a lucky few can see inside.

Yes, we’re still smiling from ear from what we just saw.

Now, we’re not entirely sure if the unit we saw has been spoken for as the G63 is an indent order special. If, by some chance, you’re the future owner, then all we say to say is lucky you. It also appears to be a custom job as its came in an interesting shade of yellowish beige. Dubbed Desert Sand, this paint job isn’t part of the standard color selection for the G63. Instead, it’s one of the many choices for the exclusive ‘Manufaktur’ catalog.

Its massive 22-inch alloys are shod in wide 295-section Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, but we doubt the performance-oriented rubber will hamper its off-road capabilities. After all, it still comes with three locking differentials, namely for the front, center, and rear. Given its price tag, we salute anyone who dares take it off-road.

As for the interior, it was trimmed in black with a suede finish for the pillars and ceiling. We dared not to sit in it as we, er, felt a bit unworthy. That said, we wish you can smell what we did, and goodness it deserves to be its own fragrance. Amoy mayaman, as they say.

Under the hood is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that packs a punch. We’re talking 577hp and an additional 20hp from its mild-hybrid system. As for the torque, the engine alone makes 850Nm, further assisted by the 48v system to give it an extra 200Nm. Mercedes-AMG claims a 0 to 100kph time of just 4.4-seconds—hugely impressive when you consider the 2,560kg base curb weight. Base.

The price? In case you missed the headline, it can be yours for P24.78-M. For the lucky few, indeed.
