Exterior

Seeing as this is only a facelift, the Almera retains its shape and silhouette. The changes up front, however, are impossible to miss. The V-Motion grille on the new Almera now features horizontal slats instead of the V-shaped chrome and gloss-black plastic trim enclosing the mesh grille on the pre-facelift model.

As expected, the Almera’s dimensions remain the same. It still measures 4,530mm long1,740mm wide, and 1,460mm tall, with a 2,620mm wheelbase and 135mm ground clearance.

The new Almera also comes in a variety of colors. Available across the range are Brilliant Silver, Pearl White, and Galaxy Black. The VL variant can be had in Moon Pearl Gray and Fiery Cayenne Red, while the VE and EL  Gun Metallic.

Interior

The facelifted Almera also retains its interior design. Same layout for the dash, same look for the center console. What’s worth noting here, though, is that the higher-spec Almeras are available with two-tone finishes inside the cabin.

Of course, same head- and legroom are available inside. At the back, you’re still looking at 474 liters of cargo space.

Engine and specs

The Almera also packs a familiar 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline that generates 99hp at 5,000rpm and 152Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. This is mated to either an Xtronic CVT or a five-speed manual gearbox. The latter bumps maximum torque output up to 160Nm.

Underneath, the Almera is fitted with independent MacPherson struts with stabilizers up front and a torsion beam with stabilizers out back. Ventilated disc and drum brakes at the front and rear, respectively, handle stopping duties.

The Almera also gets a choice of 15-inch steelies or 15- or 16-inch alloy wheels, depending on the variant.

Extra features

Nissan Almera 2024

The updated sedan still features a bunch of safety features that come courtesy of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite. There’s forward-collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and a 360-degree-view monitor that are available depending on the trim. ABS with EBD, vehicle dynamic control, and hill-start assist are all standard.

New for this Almera is the addition of Android Auto connectivity to the Apple CarPlay-ready eight-inch infotainment system for VE and VL variants. A wireless charger is now also available for these trims. A tire-pressure monitoring system, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning to go along with six airbags now also come as standard in the sedan.

Arguably the biggest change for the new Almera, however, is the introduction of Nissan Connect Services in the top-of-the-line variant—a first for NPI. This enables connectivity between the car and a smartphone via a dedicated app. The app then allows features such as remote lock/unlock and engine start and automatic collision notification, among many others.

Nissan Connect Services also allows owners to monitor their cars’ health and maintenance schedules through the app. This app can now be downloaded via Google Play or the App Store. Each purchase of the top-spec Almera also comes with a three-year subscription.
