While some wait for their dream cars to hit production, others take matters into their own hands. Meet Nick Scherr, also known as Nismo Nick, and as his name suggests, he’s a Nissan superfan.
Scherr recently announced that he would be building his own dream-spec Nissan Sentra, fully loaded with Nismo parts and other accessories. It will be a sentimental build as well, as his first car was a manual Sentra SE R Spec-V from yesteryear. With this project, Nick aims to return the Sentra to the status of “cool” and channel some deep-rooted nostalgia.

Dubbed the Sentra SE RS Concept—standing for Special Edition Rally Sport—the build will start with a brand-new Sentra SR. And being a man of the people, Nick will be handing over the finished product to Pinnacle Nissan, a dealership based in Scottsdale, Arizona, where it will be sold to a lucky buyer.

To start, the stock alloys will be replaced with Nismo’s five-spoke LM-RS6 wheels. The exhaust will then be overhauled with the Nismo cat-back system, while Nismo coilovers will also be installed.

In true Nismo fashion, Nick will be throwing red accents throughout the Sentra’s shell and along the interior. The famed Nismo stripe will be stickered onto the exterior for extra style and nostalgia points. Inside, the seats will be reupholstered in red and black leather with custom Nismo badges.
Interestingly, parts and assembly will all come from Nissan via the Scottsdale dealership. This means that all aspects of the build will be covered by factory warranty, and will have no effect on the Sentra’s own warranty and insurance.
This likely means that engine modifications will not take place. Although the Sentra SR’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder already makes a decent 149hp and 198Nm of torque.
