One of the Pasig City local government’s (LGU) recent noteworthy efforts is putting up bike lanes around the city. Earlier this month, Mayor Vico Sotto revealed the LGU’s plans to establish a ‘High Priority Bicycle Corridor.’
You may have observed around Pasig that the LGU has already begun adding these bike lanes on the roads. As a matter of fact, it has even released a one-minute video of its work via the Pasig Transport Facebook page. We suggest you watch it, because the clip is oddly satisfying. Besides, we could use a little more feel-good content these days. Check it out here:
Once the bike corridor is complete, cyclists will have safe passage from Barangay Manggahan across Marikina River all the way to the Pasig City Hall. The LGU will also be setting up racks in multiple areas to serve as parking spaces for bikes. Considering how the pandemic has drastically changed transport and mobility in general, initiatives like these are what the public—especially commuters—could use right now.
