Dining out of the house—and in particular, outdoors—has become especially appealing in these times. It combines the fun of soaking up the sights of the outside world (which we don’t get to see on the daily during this pandemic) with the joy of savoring great food. And if you follow the right protocols, it can be a relatively safe experience as well.
One recently unveiled venture lets you nosh on drool-worthy eats from the likes of Wildflour, Nikkei, and more, in the company of the great live music and the fresh outdoor breeze: Check out Rada Promenade on Rada Street, Legazpi Village in Makati.

The Makati Commercial Estate Association and Ayala Land worked with the Makati City local government for this outdoor-dining initiative. It was set up by converting the former street-parking area into a permanent outdoor dining space to accommodate more customers in Makati’s Central Business District. You can expect to dine from restaurants and merchants like Wildflour, Nikkei, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Sarsa, Wicked ’Wich, and more—talk about a selection.
There’s also plenty of greenery around, with additional trees placed at vacant tree wells and movable planters, complete with string lights for a borderline-European street feel. Also present are pet-friendly features, bike-and-dine racks for cyclists, and live music performances to make for an all-senses-engaged, memorable meal.
There’s more to come, too. These initiatives are just the first phase of the Rada Promenade project. Among the future plans are to furnish the area with more permanent alfresco spaces, which the Makati Commercial Estate Association (MACEA) aims to complete by 2022.
