Over the years, we’ve shot episode after episode of The Big Test—some bigger than the others. Our latest one, however, is the biggest to date.

In this latest comparo, we’ve done a full-on five-way featuring the compact-SUV segment’s O.G.’s: the Toyota RAV4, Nissan X-Trail, Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, and Hyundai Tucson. The catch here, of course, is that all of these O.G. crossovers are now electrified.

The all-new RAV4 and the Kicks e-Power are two of the newest introductions to this segment. The former has been a hybrid for some time, but now we’re getting its newest iteration. The latter, meanwhile, is getting a hybrid powertrain in the Philippines for the first time.

The CR-V was also updated recently, and albeit only a facelift, it once again got an all-wheel-drive system. The Forester, meanwhile, only saw the arrival of its e-Boxer system in 2025. As for the Tucson, its hybrid version landed back in 2024.

If you’re looking for Chinese hybrids, look away. What we’ve featured in this Big Test are the traditional carmakers, most of which have breathed new life into their compact crossover offerings.

This one’s quite the comparo, so we won’t hold you any longer. You can click play on the embedded video below to watch the full episode. Enjoy.
