Modified Toyota Hilux

We've been talking about Toyota pickups this week, thanks to the Japanese carmaker's modern interpretation of Marty McFly's truck from the '80s in celebration of Back To The Future Day on October 21st. In our market, of course, we have the Hilux, the latest iteration of which was launched in the Philippines just a few months ago.

And because the all-new Hilux is still so, er, new, we really haven't seen a modified unit on the road. Maybe you have, but we haven't. And as far as we know, this Hilux right here is the very first unit of the eighth-generation model to undergo aftermarket surgery, so to speak.

This Hilux is owned by Jeffrey Limcaoco from Cabuyao, Laguna, and was modified by Jeff's Off-Road--the same Baguio-based 4x4 mod shop that worked on Doug Kramer's Isuzu MU-X. Among the aftermarket products installed on it are 20-inch Fuel chrome off-road wheels, 35x12.5 Nitto Mud Grappler tires, Pro Comp six-inch lift kit, Rancho RS9000XL shocks, Pro Comp aluminum skid plate, and MCC front and rear rocker bars, among others.

Needless to say, you won't see a new Hilux that looks as mean as this one. Browse the photos and see if you approve of the modification.
