Secondhand cars whose owners clearly spent a lot of time preserving their original state will always have a special place in our hearts. That said, we also really dig used units that have clearly had work put into transforming them.
The Toyota Land Cruiser is a fine example of this. Old-school units in pristine condition are always nice, but who doesn’t love seeing them in adventure-ready form, too? This 1984 FJ60 belongs to the latter category, and it’s currently up for auction on BringATrailer.
The current highest bid now sits at $25,000 (around P1.26 million). If you’re willing to top that, you’re looking at a 4.2-liter in-line-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Oh, and about 291,000km on the odometer, too. There’s a bit of history to this unit as well, as this Land Cruiser was originally built for a raffle benefitting the EOD [Explosive Ordnance Disposal] Warrior Foundation.

A ton of alterations have been made to this vehicle’s stock appearance. The most obvious is the army green matte exterior finish, which adds to the Land Cruiser's rugged demeanor. It gets steel bumpers with a winch and swing-out carrier in the front and rear, respectively, too.
This runs on 15-inch aftermarket alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, and the rear suspension now comes equipped with aftermarket air shocks. There’s a roof rack with a Tepui roof tent and other equipment, and the interior has leather bucket seats. Extra heat and sound insulation have also been added to the cabin.
Oh, and as an added bonus, the seller is throwing in a chest freezer, jack, pull-out camp stove, and two fuel cans into the package.
Not bad, but the listing is still up as of this writing and there’s a good chance that the current highest bid could rise further. How much would you be willing to throw at something like this?
